    Siege Mode: Unofficial "Custom Gamemode" by PivotJJ

    Now I know what your thinking, "Wtf, how is this possible?" Well, if you take advantage of the CTF mode and the game's mechanics and blocks, plus have creativity, you get this custom mode.


    Alright, what is Siege Mode?

    Siege Mode is when there are two points on the map, and the first point (middle) has the flag, and the Blue team will try to get it and capture the flag in the last point (which is red base). The red will try to defend the flag and their capture point.

    Wait, What If The Red Gets the Flag?/Doesn't Defend?

    To counter this, I have come up with two special methods/twists: incomplete walling and tunneling. Incomplete walling is when you place a wall, but delete the middle so players can shoot through the hole. Tunneling is when you make tunnels underground/aboveground. Using these methods, I can build barriers and tunnels and force players to stay where they can and play the objective.

    Cool! How can I Play?

    Currently, I am building the first map (named Castle Siege). I will update you guys when it is done (US Server) Unfortunately this mode will only be on the US server, but I'm thinking if I should bring this custom mode to the EU server.

    Have I understood this correctly? Basically it's CTF, but:

    • Red is locked in and can't cap
    • Red can never win, only tie 0-0
    • Red loses if the blue team places just one flag

    Seems like Red is getting the short end of the stick here.

    1. Red is not supposed to cap, they are supposed to defend
    2. I am aware of this, and I am still thinking of a way for Red to officially win. Can you help me out with that?
    3. This indicates that Blue has won by "capturing the Red base."
    As for the last one, I will make it so Red has access and can shoot virtually anywhere in the map, as well make Red have more firepower, like have Red have most of the turrets. (Of course, this can be countered.)

    Like... maybe if Red was locked in with both cap points, and if they intercept the Blue carrier they could score? Hm.

    Or you could make it Demolition, and the two bomb targets are inside the castle. Although that would chop up the siege into several 3-minute rounds.

    Edit: Derp, I completely forgot that you don't respawn in Demolition. There probably isn't an easy fix unless Siege is introduced as an official game mode. Might be an idea worth pitching, anyway.

    I think you've reached as far as you can go sorry lol

    Though playing a game between friends or willing others, Team Deathmatch or Solo is the way to go for "custom modes"

    In this case colored bricks on the floor would represent the "possession area"
    Voice chat also makes it a heck of a lot easier to understand what's going on.

    But I like the idea regardless
